Want to know what goes on behind our events? On 24 Jan, we ran a Clay Sculpturing Workshop.
Conducted by Ngiam, an artist with over 20 years of experienced in sculpturing clay, the event saw 30 attendees eager to learn the beautiful therapeutic art of clay sculpturing. Starting with a session of self-introduction and ice-breakers, it was an afternoon filled with excitement and learning as Ngiam led the attendees through a series of brain exercises to fire up everybody’s creative senses. Did you know, while the right brain has been touted as the side that helps to appreciate the arts, the left brain can help in creativity as well!
Ngiam’s lesson of the day helped attendees to create their very own unique clay face figurine. You might have heard of the famed golden ratio, a.k.a. the divine proportions of a visually-appealing face. Ngiam brought attendees through this for everyone to create their figurine’s facial features based on these proportions, before following through with the neck.
Interaction was facilitated throughout the event. Rotations were done for the men for everyone to have a chance to meet everybody else. Ngiam also went around to give individual feedback and advice for the attendees. The buzz and laughter in the air were palpable – safe to say, everyone had great fun at the workshop!
At the end of the session, the ice was broken and contact cards and numbers were exchanged. New skills were picked up, and new friends were made. There couldn’t be a better way to end the weekend!
